Weirdest music moment of my life?

Friday, November 9th, 2007

I experienced maybe the weirdest music moment of my life the other day. I was at Wal-Mart picking up some trash bags and other supplies for the office. Over the store speakers I could clearly hear the pleasant sound of record scratching. “Wow, this is kinda weird to hear in Wal-Mart”, I thought to myself. The song I was hearing was Rockit by Herbie Hancock. This very track helped further connect me to the genre of hip-hop. Anyways, I enjoyed the rest of the song and then… Christmas music started with the sounds of Noel, Noel. Wow, that one threw me for loop! I couldn’t believe I was hearing two of the most opposite sounding songs back to back. Weird.

CD or not to CD?

Sound off on whether you see music coverage and airplay moving away from hard copy mailing. I see more of a demand for digital copies of the music but at the same time realize it’s just nice to have hard copy of the music sitting on your desk.

You tell me! Whattya think? Please post a comment.
